Srinagar, Jun 06 (KNO): The traders in Kashmir have expressed hope that the Vande Bharat train, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Katra on Friday, will prove beneficial for them. The dream project of 127 years—Vande Bharat train, which would see direct trains from Delhi to Kashmir, has been finally dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister today at Katra. Chairman of Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), Mohammad Yaseen Khan, speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said it is a very welcome development for Kashmir’s economy. “The new trains and enhanced rail connectivity will benefit all,” he said. Khan said the train will cut the fare of visitors from Mumbai, Delhi and other states who travel to Kashmir and prefer an affordable journey. "It will boost the trade as well, he said. “With faster, reliable transport, their products will reach buyers in better condition, increasing their profits." President of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCC&I), Javed Tenga, said the train will be beneficial for them from a business perspective. “Vande Bharat train will give a significant boost to the tourism sector, as visitors can now book a train from anywhere and easily travel to Kashmir,” he said. It will also benefit trade by enhancing imports and exports. “We no longer have to rely solely on the national highway, which often remains closed due to weather conditions. The railway provides a more reliable alternative for the movement of goods,” he said—(KNO)
